Children's Museum Director by day, plant-obsessed cat mom by night. I grew up in small-town Wisconsin, but my journey has brought me to North Carolina.
In an attempt to try and keep the peace between my plants and my cat, I needed to keep them out of reach. That's when I created my first macrame plant hanger. While simply trying to solve a problem, I managed to stumble upon my calling. This was IT. I was hooked. I've dabbled in various artistic ventures in the past, but nothing ever gripped me the way Macrame did.
From that moment on, I knew I finally found my creative outlet. The outlet that carries me through times of stress, anxiety, joy, and everyday life. Macrame gives me the opportunity for creative expression in every knot I tie. It keeps me grounded, and has taught me so much about patience, perseverance, and.. accurate measuring.
.....So what's with the Emerald references?
Emerald happens to be my birthstone. A stone of inspiration and infinite patience, that embodies unity, compassion, and unconditional love.
This is truly a part of me. Every piece I create is a part of my heart.
This Emerald Heart.
